Explaining that the work on making Kültepe Kaniş / Karum Mound- one of the most important excavation sites in Turkey and known as the first city founded by the Hittites in Anatolia - a museum continues, Governor Şehmus Günaydın said: “When Kültepe is combined with Cappadocia, it will make a great contribution to the tourism of the region. We will continue the excavation and restoration work in Kültepe with great care.”
At the meeting, SDIF President Muhiddin Gülal stated that as Erciyes Anadolu Holding, they care very much about Turkey’s cultural and historical wealth and are ready to provide further support and commented “Ongoing excavations have been taking place since 1948 at Karum Kaniş, the famous trade center of the ancient world in Kültepe, where documents linking todays Kayseri back to 6000 years ago were unearthed.
