Born in Beykoz in 1971, Alpaslan Baki Ertekin graduated from Boğaziçi University Department of Sociology in 1994. He received a master's degree in International Trade Program from Istanbul Commerce University in 2007 and then a PhD degree in Sports Management from Marmara University in 2016. His application in September 2021 was successful and he was entitled to become an associate professor.
Starting his business life in Migros Trade INC. in 1994, Ertekin held the position of Marketing Manager in Garipoğlu Enterprises in 1996, and then Deputy Exports General Manager.
Between 2000 and 2005, he worked as Sales Manager at Nortel Netaş INC., and between 2005 and 2007, he became Executive Committee Member and General Manager of Istanbul World Trade Center. In addition to these positions, he also worked as the General Manager of Trabzon, Kayseri and Antalya World Trade Centers.
He was the Executive Committee Member in Prime Ministry 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency and worked as a Board Member and a Member of the Budget Tender Commission on behalf of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. In the following period, he also took on the duties of Beltur INC. Board Member and Kültür INC. General Manager Consultant.
Appointed as General Manager of IBB Sports INC. in November 2009, Ertekin left the General Directorate of Sports INC. in June 2014 and worked as the Chief Advisor to the President of the Istanbul Commodity Exchange.
From April 2015 to February 2016, he was the General Manager of Anfaş Fair Organization and Anfaş Expo Center and in April 2016 he became the General Manager of Nun Education and Culture Foundation.
Becoming the CEO of Uğur Group of Companies, which includes companies such as Uğur Cooling, Uğur Motor Vehicles- Mondial Motor, Kuteks Medical Devices, Uğur Integrated Food in August 2017, Ertekin was appointed as Erciyes Anadolu Holding CEO and Board Member by SDIF on December 25, 2017.
