Eastern Anatolia's Largest Solar Energy Power Plant With Sun Tracking System Inaugurated
RHG Enertürk Energy, a key player in Turkey's renewable energy production investments, has added another milestone to its portfolio with the inauguration of the Van Arısu Solar Energy Power Plant (GES) in the Tuşba district of Van.
Established by RHG Enertürk Energy, a strong investment by Kayseri's industrial giant Erciyes Anadolu Holding in the renewable energy sector, the Van Arısu Solar Energy Power Plant boasts 138,213 solar panels equipped with an intelligent solar tracking system technology, enabling it to follow the movement of the sun. It stands out as the region's most technologically advanced Solar Energy Power Plant.
With a total installed capacity of 534 MWm from 13 different RES (Renewable Energy Source), HES (Hydropower), and GES (Solar Energy) plants across Turkey, RHG Enertürk Energy aims to reach 849 MWm in the near future, positioning itself to dominate the renewable energy sector through its investment efforts.
The Van Arısu Solar Energy Power Plant is a formidable investment in renewable and clean energy and also boasts one of the highest rates of localization in Turkey through its PV Panel Integration, Solar Structural Mechanics, and domestic production rate.
Since its full capacity operation in December 2021, the power plant has an annual energy production capacity of 115,250 MWh, sufficient to meet the annual electricity needs of approximately 44,000 households.
Covering an area of 784,000 m², which is roughly equivalent to 110 football fields, and utilizing Nextracker's intelligent solar tracking technology, the power plant accommodates 138,213 monocrystalline solar panels, effectively meeting the energy demands of more than 44,000 homes.
RHG Enertürk Energy is committed to environmentally friendly and highly efficient projects throughout all stages of its energy investments, aiming to minimize dependency on petroleum derivatives, fossil fuels, and nuclear power plants, thus targeting an annual reduction of approximately 63,000 tons of emissions.
The inauguration ceremony for the Van Arısu Solar Energy Power Plant, attended by Van Governor Dr. Ozan Balcı, Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek, Kayseri Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, Erciyes Anadolu Holding Board members, Van Tuşba Mayor Mehmet Salih Akman, RHG Enertürk executives, and members of the press, represents a significant breakthrough in domestic and national energy production.
